Dear Members,
Happy New Year for 2018! We hope you got all the goodies you wanted for Christmas and are now enjoying them. Last month's activity at Fly UK had an average of 346 unique pilots per week filing a PIREP in December. We received 2,224 Mainstream PIREPs, 1,333 Tour PIREPs and 437 Flying Club PIREPs. Membership numbers currently stand at 1080

Staff News
Daniel Remiszewski has left his staff role as head of Fly UK ATC Controllers, due to not being able to have the time to do all he wanted to do for Fly UK. We thank him for his efforts and contribution he has made in his short time with us; he will continue to be a Fly UK member. We are also in the the process of expanding the Operations team and in discussion with a number of members following a great response to our recent recruitment.

Fleet
As previously announced, the fleet rank re-alignment took effect from 1st of January and is now in force. The Fleet pages now reflect the correct alignment so please ensure you are flying the correct types.

In January we will also take delivery of the next seven Boeing 787's which will replace the last of our 767 fleet. We have also agreed to take lease options on a further six 787's which will join us later in the year. Additionally, we have agreed a purchase to fulfil an upcoming expansion of the Nordic Dash 8 routes.

Operations
January will see the last month of operation for the 767 in Fly UK mainstream service with its planned retirement coming into effect at the end of the month.  Little change overall for the Operations department in terms of scheduling as we are mid season. Future plans for the various Fly UK divisions will be discussed with the expanded Ops team once in place.

Tours
The F1 2017 tour has been reviewed and an updated 2018 tour will be released late January 2018, to include February testing in Barcelona. The 2017 F1 tour will then be moved to the retirement tab until the end of March 2018. A tour will be released every month during 2018. More details will be made available in the forums, as each tour is released an existing tour will be moved to the retirement tab for a 6-8 week period.

Charters (Ad-Hoc)
The Lapland flights will terminate on 8 January 2018. The current charter fleet remains at 2 Boeing 737-700 and 1 Airbus A320. Liverpool remains as the charter airport unless a specific charter deems the use of another airport. To facilitate this, charters may also provide daily return flights to London, Edinburgh and Belfast. Charter staff are in the final stages of negotiations for cruise flights during January and February.
