UKV1212 - Adam Hillier Posted July 10, 2011 Report Share Posted July 10, 2011 Dear Members, We can't quite believe that half of 2011 is now behind us; but we have had another good month at Fly UK with a grand total of 2402 Pireps filed during this period. Thank-you for your continued support. Summer is now well upon us and judging by the weather, it is certainly going to be a warm one! We hope you enjoy our Summer schedules. Here is what we have to offer this month at Fly UK! - Operations Update The Summer Schedules are now in full swing, we very much hope you are enjoying them. On a further note, we will be taking delivery of a number of Embraer 190 aircraft later this month. These new aircraft will be replacing our ageing Fokker 100 fleet at Leeds and Southampton. Delivery flights will be available for members to fly, we will provide more information later this month with the details on these flights. We will also be holding a Fokker retirement event to mark the life and removal of this aircraft from our fleet, more information about this will be provided at a later date. - FlyKandi Logo Jet We are pleased to announce the release of another one of our Logo Jet aircraft. This Boeing 757 has been painted up in the vibrant yet recognisable scheme of Hed Kandi and will be cruising on flights to and from the Sunny Balearics and the Canaries this Summer. More information on this release can be found Here. - Staff Team Update Unfortunately we say goodbye to a number of staff this month. Tom Hurrell, previously Assistant CEO has stepped down due to real world commitments, Tom will be remaining with us as an Advisor for the future though! We also say goodbye to Carl Chamberlain (Online Operations) and Jason Pijnaker (Operations), who again have both left due to other real world commitments. We wish both of you the very best! - Staff Vacancies We are currently in the process of recruiting a number of new staff members. We are looking for flexible, dedicated people to work in the areas of Marketing, Online Operations and General Operations. For more information on how to apply for these positions please see our Management Careers section of the website. - Flying Club - A Different Perspective On Things Do you ever fancy a change from flying the norm? Why not fly something a little different with the Flying Club. The idea of the Flying Club is to offer a different type of flying to members. Flying VFR can be challenging but great fun at the same time. If you don't know the first thing about flying VFR there will always be people on hand to help you out. The Flying Club also meet on Wednesday evenings for a group flight, so why not get involved and come along! For more information on how to get involved; visit the Flying Club section on the main website. - Screenshot Competition - Sponsored by UK2000 Scenery Thank you to all members who submitted entries for the May and June screenshot competitions. Voting has now closed for June and Congratulations to Pete Gill who came in first place this month with his winning shot 'Morning Glory'. Well done to runners up Graham Hammill, Mike Dunn and Stewart Pearson in equal second place. Also Congratulations to May's winner Mark Garforth with his shot 'Whirly Bird Over London'. The July competition is now up and running and the theme is 'The Moon'! Full information as well as competition rules can be found there too. - John Brown Memorial Flight Thanks to everyone who flew for John's memorial flight. We had an incredible amount of people showing their support for this event and we are very proud of everyone who helped make this as popular as it was; it really was a fitting memorial to John, thank you all once again! - Online Events This July - Get Involved If you fly online then make sure you join us and experience at least one of our many online events this July at Fly UK.
