Latest News & Updates for Members - April

UKV1121 - Chris Sutcliffe

Dear Members,

We've included lots of information in this month's update, and hope it provides you with an interesting update regarding what's happening at Fly UK!

Firstly, once again, we are very proud with our pilots at Fly UK. You have managed to impress us once again with the many pireps submitted in the month of March. Fly UK only exists because of what members want, and with the number of pireps submitted, it reflects that we are obviously going in the right direction.

Remember, if you feel that you have any suggestions or can contribute to make Fly UK better for the whole community, feel free to post it in our forums or send us an e-mail!

Now ahead with the news:

- Fly UK's 6th Anniversary

To help celebrate our 6th Birthday, we will be holding a special event on IVAO on the 5th April. Full ATC will be provided, however this time by our own Fly UK staff members!

We will be flying from Leeds Bradford (EGNM) to Jersey (EGJJ). We aim to depart at 1800z (please note this will be 1900 Local Time).

CEO Chris Sutcliffe says: "We hope you will join us on this great event. We've picked EGNM because it was here where we started operations from many years ago. Today, Leeds is still one of our important regional hubs for turboprop operations. We look forward to seeing you on Monday 5th for this short hop down to Jersey."

- Changes to Class E Aircraft

fly2737.png

We are pleased to announce a change in the Class E Operations. The FLY2 B737-700 is now available to be flown by all Class E pilots. This scheme will initially be running on a one month trial basis. At the end of the trial, we will then make a decision whether to continue the scheme or not. This means Class E First Officers (new pilots) will have the choice of the following aircraft when they join:

- ATR72-500

- Dash8-Q400

- FLY2 B737-700

This has come about in an attempt to increase the popularity of FLY2 as a whole, and also allow new pilots to fly a wider variety of aircraft. We feel that de-ranking the B737-700 is a perfect compromise and will appeal to both new and experienced pilots who walk through the door at Fly UK.

- Screenshot Competition

Furthermore it's a competition to see who can land closest to a given time!
