Guest
Fly UK has arranged flights to take aid into Kathmandu to assist in the relief operations there. In the mean time there is a massive backlog of other equipment and personnel needing to be transported over the nearby countryside alongside that flown in by FlyUk members. Our Wednesday 6th May evening flight has been postponed and we propose to assemble at Kathmandu to assist in the deployment of these services. Currently we are still planning the operation and will post details of what is required soon but essential details will only be available on the day! Flying Club pilots who are able, are requested to assemble at Kathmandu on Wednesday 6th May at 18.00z on the FSD server and Teamspeak to assist in the operation. Flying Club rules still apply re aircraft and weight but be aware that supplies and personnel will be required to be moved so think about the aircraft you will fly and the conditions in the area and come along to help out. (A Cessna 172 can drop off a medic) Everest base camp is still experiencing problems and Lukla airport is the nearest approach. If you can get in there - we need you!!! see forum posts here http://forum.flyuk.aero/topic/1007060-wed-6th-may-kathmandu-relief-flights/?p=137151 Jim
