UKV1197 - Derek Butterworth Posted September 2, 2017 Report Share Posted September 2, 2017 Dear Members,Our Skytrack has been updated and you now need to update to version 1.5.1 , this version records in your logbook the flight simulator used and fixes a few bugs. The past month's activity at Fly UK had an average of 347 unique pilots per week filing a PIREP in August. We received 1,743 Mainstream PIREPs, 667 Tour PIREPs and 416 Flying Club PIREPs. Membership numbers currently stand at 1140Staff NewsJordon Brooker is now part of the staff team recruited to support our fleet in X plane flight simulator Collin Gray will be joining the staff during September keeping the small team of AI painters focused on what needs doing to keep the Fly UK fleet of AI up to date and compatible with the new simulators that we have available now. Daniel Remiszewski will also join the staff in September to head up our growing FSD approved controllers and to try and get more Fly UK member doing flights on the FSD server, rather than offlineCameron Park from the Training Academy is standing down due to his real world workload as a pilot. We thank him for all his efforts in the past. He will continue to be a member of Fly UK and he hopes to still do the occasional flightOperations & FleetWe have announced several operations changes to come later this year. Firstly the Jetstream 41 will be retired from the Highland Connect fleet to be replaced by additional B1900D's. Secondly Fly UK mainstream will introduce a small number of CRJ 700 regional jets to operate from Southampton and Birmingham. Both the CRJ and B1900D have been purchased from a North American carrier and will arrive prior to the Mainstream operations switch to Winter timetables.A significant amount of new livery downloads air updates were added last month and the team continues to work on bringing more fresh paint to the fleet both in X-Plane and FSX/P3D. The new fly2 livery is high on the priority list and we hope to bring some previews of the new Topa Sky livery soon.ToursFive new tours added this month and work currently ongoing for another four. Lets do Alaska - DHC6 Lets do Europe - Turbo Prop Out of Africa - B737 & B717 World Flight 2017 (Event runs 4th - 11th November 2017) 30 Busiest Cargo Airports 2016 - Freighters There are now five tours in the retirement home, full retirement dates as listed below Goodwood to Darwin (Will remain until 31 October 2017) WorldFlight 2016 (Will remain until 30 November 2017) 30 Busiest Cargo Airports 2014 (Will remain until 31 October 2017 Iberian Sun (Will be removed on 30 September 2017) IVAO Long Haul 2016 (Will be removed on 30 September 2017) These dates may be extended slightly if the need arises.Training AcademyWe need to recruit some new instructors. If you are interested and feel you could help out please email us. We are pleased to announce ATC training is now back on the menu. Those interested in becoming ATC controllers for our FSD events please go to the Training Academy courses and select your choice. Please note if you are new to controlling then you need to select Aerodrome control first.Charters (Ad-Hoc)NATO flights were introduced during August. These will complete on 3 Sept 2017, however they may be utilised again later in September/October. The current A320 flights from Liverpool will be extended until the end of September. A Boeing 737-700 charter to Russia and Ukraine will commence on 4 September for 4 weeks. A Boeing 737-700 service has also been requested in America, of which the final details are being negotiated. This service is expected in the next few weeks.Flying ClubPlans are ongoing to introduce a new challenge commencing in October (which will last approx 10 months). We will not use IVAO for events until their new system, that will work with all the sims currently available, is released.
