We have added some more new fleet, details below. Last month's activity at Fly UK had an average of 303 unique pilots per week filing a PIREP in July. We received 1,888 Mainstream PIREPs, 836 Tour PIREPs and 474 Flying Club PIREPs. Membership numbers currently stand at 1,032Staff News Leavers UKV1548 - Alistair Munro was appointed as a training instructor, but he has not been active and has not replied to emails from the exec team, so we assume he no longer wants the position UKV1145 - Steve Trueman has had to stand down, after recently rejoining the staff, as one of our fleet painters as he just hasn't got the time to give to Fly UK Movers UKV1777 - Peter Kaminski has agreed to move over to the Training Academy to work with Ron as we are short of active Instructors, He will be doing the basic courses at first as he has no access to a PC which is capable of running a flightsim, since he moved back to Poland Fleet We have now welcomed our additional B787-8's as well as our first A350's to the long haul fleet for mainstream and our first B787-9's for Fly2. All these aircraft commence operation 01/08/18 Operations With the new fleet comes a lot of changes and new routes, these include, Mainstream B787-8 MAN - Suspension of Orlando and Cayo Coco routes MAN - New services to Atlanta and Chicago LHR - Increased frequency on Bahrain, New York and Tokyo routes LHR - New services to Beijing and San Diego LGW - Transfer of Nassau and Grand Cayman service from LHR LGW - New services to New Orleans, Nashville, Lima, Muscat and Bogota Mainstream A350 LHR - Additional frequency on Miami, Los Angeles, New York, Dubai, Hong Kong and Mumbai Fly 2 B787-9 LGW - Replaces A330 on Antigua, Punta Cana, Goa, Phuket Long Haul routes LGW - Additional capacity on Alicante, Ibiza, Palma and Corfu routes LGW - New holiday charter service to Orlando MAN - Replaces A330 on Antigua, Cancun, and Barbados/St Lucia Long Haul routes MAN - Additional capacity on Palma route MAN - New holiday charter service to Orlando New Orlando routes - Orlando service now available once per week from the following Fly2 regional departure points : Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Newcastle, Edinburgh & Glasgow Marketing Next edition of the skyways magazine is slowly taking shape. Should there be any of the members who would like to contribute to the 20th edition, would they please contact UKV1678 - Morten Hansen with their submission. Deadline for any submission will be Aug 31st. Flying Club New tours this month will be Norway Revisited, South America Grand tour and Helicopter advanced. Being retired and moved to retired tab with remaining legs to be completed by 01 Dec 18 will be Norwegian Wonders, American State Capitals and Japanese Islands & Taiwan Coming up from 1 August to 28 October will be a series of Flying club events takings us from the west coast of the USA SF Intentional to the east coast at Kennedy International, a total of thirteen legs. See the post in Flying Club News and Events. A prize will be awarded at the end. The weight limits have been increased 6000lbs on normal flights Weds/ Sun and on events to 5500lbs. This month we are concentrating on places using UK2000 scenery and Drzewiecki Design scenery, both of which have free demo versions for those on a tight budget. Remember online events have no rank restrictions so it's a chance to fly different airframes. Our IVAO event on a weekly basis on Sundays 1230z. For August we are doing the return trip from the Saturday morning event.
