The schedule change sees the termination of our seasonal flights to summer holiday destinations and the introduction of new winter sun and ski destinations. In addition to this there are various flight time re-schedules, new long haul destinations and ad-hoc flights to Jeddah. This year we are operating flights from London Gatwick, Manchester and Edinburgh to Rovaniemi and Kitilia. There are a total of 15 flights to Lapland available to book within the next 3 weeks, flights will terminate on the 23rd December. Flights can be booked via the ad-hoc section of the mainstream division page. All pilots must read NOTAM GOLF before flying to/from Rovaniemi as it contains important operational information. FLY2 Christmas Logojet Yes its that time of the year again and FLY2 are pleased to release our fun, festive Christmas logojet for our B737-700 aircraft! The final date for entry submission is 9pm on 23rd December. The winner will be able to choose an airport from the UK2000 Xtreme range. More Info: http://www.flyuk.aero/en/forums/index.php?showtopic=8114 Website Updates We have made various changes to the website over the last couple of weeks. The Fly UK Local and International pages have been replaced by a new real world events page and improved pilot roster page. The pilot roster page now includes the regional and international rosters as well as the main roster. We have reviewed all information available to visitors/potential new pilots and introduced a new page called Why Choose Fly UK. Pilots now have access to the careers drop down menu which includes the management careers page and rank and awards page. We have also made a few changes to the pilot application process. Inactive Members Deleted It recently came to light that the automatic script to set pilot accounts as inactive and delete them was not working exactly how it should be, it was missing out some accounts. On Friday 4th December we deleted 268 inactive pilot accounts. We still have some accounts in the database where pilots have 0.00 hours, joined months ago but are still active. We will be running another script in the next few days to clear out these accounts. The script to set inactive pilots has been fixed and is now working correctly. So a reminder to everyone... you must file one 1 pirep per month to remain inactive. If you do not your account will be set to inactive. Any account which has been inactive for 1 month will automatically deleted. Community Forums We would like all members who have not done so already to please register on our forums. The forums are a very important part of our virtual airline community and will help you keep up to date with what is going on at Fly UK. You can find out what others think about what's happening at Fly UK and ask us any questions or put your own suggestions forward. We are very pleased to see the standard of flight plans has increased. A few months ago we were seeing pilots make regular errors but now they seem to be few and far between, please keep this up! If you fly online please make sure you are familar with the online flying guidelines as per NOTAM CHARLIE. New Training Academy Course A new course has been added to the Training Academy courses entitled 'Flying & Navigating Class E Aircraft'. It is aimed at pilots new to flight simming with Fly UK and gives them instruction on how to complete a scheduled flight from the Class E flights in the Dash8-Q400 or ATR72-500. For those more experienced pilots used to FMC's and flight sim addons like FS Commander, it's a good reminder of how to fly with the basics. Skyways Magazine The December edition of Skyways has been cancelled. Skyways will now be released every 3 months with the next edition being released in January.
