- Summer Operations Begin

SummerOps2010.png

As May arrives, we are happy to announce Fly UK's 2010 summer operations. This schedule change sees the termination of our seasonal flights to winter destinations and the introduction of new summer holiday destinations. There are many changes to the full network. A huge amount of hard work has gone into these schedules by the operations department, so a large vote of thanks to them.

Please note that another update which will include scheduled (London Heathrow), cargo and ad-hoc flights will be released later in May.

Robert Allen, head of operations says, "We sincerely hope you enjoy the start of our new schedules. We have chosen a selection of new destinations coupled with some old favourites to offer a varied and interesting set of schedules for summer 2010. Of particular interest is our new set of European destinations from Southampton, a gateway to a summer in North Europe! "

For full details of all the new destinations, summer bases & focus hubs, please see our press release here:

- Staff Team Changes

It gives us great pleasure to welcome Frans Van Santbrink to our staff team. Frans will be assisting Tom Hurrell in the marketing department, as well as contributing to the overall running of Fly UK. We have a number of new projects in the pipeline now, so keep an eye out!

Furthermore, we also welcome Stuart McIntyre to the staff team, to help develop our VATSIM online operations. Along with Wygene Chong, our VATSIM online operations manager, we look forward to increasing the activity and numbers within our, already busy, VATSIM community.

- Real World Event - FSC 2010 Weston-Super-Mare

The 2010 flight sim convention is due to take place at the Helicopter Museum in Weston-Super-Mare on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of May.

Exhibitors include: RC Simulations, PC Pilot, Cockpit Sonic, Alpine Systems, Flight1, Saitek, Just Flight, Flightstore, VATSIM UK, IVAO UK, SkyHigh Radio and many more. Commercial aircraft, GA aircraft and helicopter's will also be on display.

Unfortunately Fly UK will not be attending as an official exhibitor this year. We are however still promoting the event and know a number of Fly UK members are planning on attending. We have therefore created an attendance list below so you can find out which other Fly UK members will be at the event for you to meet.

We will provide a lanyard with a Fly UK badge for all members who confirm their attendance before midnight on Tuesday 11th May. You will be able to pick lanyards up from one of the stands at the event, we will let you know as soon as we know which stand.

If you are planning on attending this event please reply to the thread in our forums so we can add you to the attendance list.
