Fly UK announces MSFS Support
Posted 21 Aug 2020
SkyTrack:
A new version of our tracking software, SkyTrack (v1.9) has been released with support for the hotly anticipated 2020 release of Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS). SkyTrack relies on the installation of a library known as “SimConnect”. Members who would like to use the 2020 release of Microsoft Flight Simulator, and have not previously installed Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Microsoft Flight Simulator: Steam Edition or any version of Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3D, will need to install SimConnect as the new simulator does not install this automatically. This may change in the future as Asobo continues to develop the SDK.
Please note, at the time of release there is a known issue with the current version of MSFS where sim performance is affected when a SimConnect application is running. Unfortunately, SkyTrack is one such application. This issue has been reported to Microsoft/Asobo and we anticipate that this will be fixed in a future update to MSFS.
Liveries
Fly UK are committed to delivering in-house liveries for MSFS, however, please be aware that we have no set timescales. We will release further information in due course. In the meanwhile, you are welcome to fly any of the default liveries on any of the MSFS aircraft which match the Fly UK Fleet.
FSD
We are continuing to assess compatibility between MSFS and our in-house multiplayer “FSD” Platform. We will release further information on this matter in due course.
Finally, a huge thank you to all staff and members who helped develop and test SkyTrack 1.9 for the release. The new simulator is incredibly exciting, and we look forward to what the future holds for Flight Simulation!
