Fly UK to Exhibit at Scottish FS Show

Posted 13 Aug 2007

Fly UK are pleased to announce that we will be exhibiting at the World Flight Scotland, 2007 Scottish Charity Flightsim Show, taking place on Sunday the 28th of October 2007 in support of ORBIS and the Flying Eye Hospital.

---------

About the Event:

The event is being held at the Holiday Inn, Glasgow International Airport. The Holiday Inn is perfectly situated opposite the international arrivals hall at Glasgow International Airport. The event offers vendors and flightsim enthusiast the opportunity to come together in support of an extremely worth while cause.

The event is unique with all proceeds going directly to ORBIS. Entry to the event is free of charge and all we ask is that you consider making a donation to ORBIS.

Glasgow Airport is the busiest of Scotland's three main international airports. Over 40 airlines serve over 80 destinations worldwide. There are a number of low cost carriers operating from the airport, with good road and rail links. Visiting the event could not be easier.

ORBIS is an international development organisation that works to eliminate avoidable blindness in developing countries where at least 90 percent of the blind and visually impaired reside. The World Health Organisation estimates that 37 million people worldwide are blind - 28 million unnecessarily.

"Every minute a child goes blind"

The flightsim community have been incredibly supportive of world flight events in recent years. So join us on Sunday the 28th October 2007 - make this event a huge success and support the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital.

This is a great opportunity for Fly UK members to meet each other in person, we hope to see as many of you there as possible!

Fly UK will have a stand and be exhibiting as we have in the past at events such as the IFC. We will be looking out for people to help us on our stand for certain periods, we will make a post about this later in the week. We will also organise name badges for all members, and we are currently in talks with a new supplier, so we can sell printed Fly UK t-shirts for anyone that would like them for the event.

We anticipate some members may travel to the event Saturday and stay over Saturday night, and that some may find it easier to travel Sunday and possibly stay over Sunday night. It is likely that it will work out that there will be members staying at the hotel on both nights, nearer the date we can work out who is staying which night, and organise to meet up on the night to go out or have a drink at the hotel.

The organisers of the event have also informed me they are also planning on opening the Airbus A300 simulator on the Sunday evening to everyone that is staying over at the hotel on the Sunday night. The sim is based near Glasgow airport and should available between 1900hrs and 2200hrs approx letting people shoot approaches and giving the sim a good work out before World Flight
