MAXimum Effort!

Posted 16 Aug 2025

Our first batch of MAXs are fully ready at Boeing Field (KBFI), having already undergone paint and acceptance tests. They are prepped to complete the journey to their new UK bases in a single leg for those who fancy a long haul!

For those who prefer a shorter amount of time in the cockpit, we have a batch of MAXs ready to go at Boeing's facility in Renton. These frames will take the short hop to Boeing Field before beginning their acceptance tests as part of their delivery to us at Fly UK. This allows pilots to take the new MAX from Boeing's home to the new bases via Manitoba, Canada, Nuuk, Greenland and Keflavik in Iceland before making their way to their new UK homes.

This of course, means we say goodbye to some of our older, beloved NGs. These selected registrations are heading into storage in Pinal County Airpark, Arizona, via Canada, where they will wait to see what the future holds for them.

These delivery flights for the new MAXs and the NG retirements run from midnight tonight and for the rest of the month and upon switch to 1st September, the MAX will go into Mainstream service. When this occurs, the MAX will be substitutable with the NG in Mainstream, just like Fly2. Please note, however, that the delivery flights themselves are frame-specific, so no MAX on the NG retirements and no NGs on the MAX deliveries.

Enjoy the BoeingFest!
