Fly UK / UK ATC Annoucement

Posted 27 Jan 2006

Fly UK Virtual Airways have withdrawn our support and endorsement of UK ATC as a place to fly online with Fly UK. All UK ATC logos, information pages and IP’s have been removed from our website. All existing Fly UK members of UK ATC should know that this does not mean you cannot fly online on UK ATC, if you still want to fly on the network, you can, however there will be no advertising or support for UK ATC for new and existing members who were unaware of the network.

There were a number of contributing factors which made us come to this decision. As of late, Fly UK management feel that several issues and problems have arisen which we feel could tarnish the reputation of Fly UK. We feel this was the right decision to come to, and completely stand by the decision made.

How will this affect Fly UK operations?
Fly UK pilots can fly wherever they want – as they have always been able to do. We do not want to, and will not force anyone to fly or not to fly anywhere.

However we recognise certain organisations as our online flying partners – therefore we promote their services and provide support and encourage members to fly with these partners. As it now stands our online partner is IVAO (www.ivao.aero). We provide help & support for all members flying on IVAO as well as training for pilots new to IVAO & online flying. Anyone wanting to begin flying on IVAO should contact our training department

For the time being however, for the benefit our pilots, the UK ATC pirep will remain active and pilots who do still wish to fly on UK ATC can file their pireps as normal. However there will be no longer any information etc. for UK ATC on our website.
