The Flying Club are happy to announce new features which will be operational from today, Sunday 20th July 2014.

After a very successful Fly-in to Popham (EGHP) today, we are moving our base to Popham and opening up the airport for activity on each Sunday.

Club members can fly-in, fly-out, do circuits, meet for a chat, have a coffee in the cafe etc. Mark and Jim will be there often through the day and may be able offer help to those who 'pop - in'.  We expect soon, to be registering new aircraft for use at the airport and Vatsim and IVAO cover may be available at times.

The Flying Club training section (not the TA generally) will operate most of their time from Popham using joint cockpit to underpin lessons where necessary although other airstrips will be used when appropriate.  Joint cockpit flying is becoming more attractive to Flying Club members - pop - in to Popham to learn how to do it!

Having listened to FC members requests for an increased weight limit for aircraft, we have decided to peg new limits at 2500Kg or 5500lbs for Flying Club activity - including most of the tours, which will mean a wider choice of aircraft for FC members.

The Ratings Tours will remain at the previous limits and Wednesday evening flights will still have to be flown within the old limits.

Monthly events will remain inside the old limits but we will be posting events to include the upper limits on a regular basis.

In line with the new limits we have opened up a new FC tour today - American State Capitals.  We hope you enjoy the tour, and watch out for more soon.

Jim and Mark
