FlyUno Staff Recruitment
Posted 23 Mar 2007
FlyUno is recruiting!
As part of FlyUno's ongoing restructure, and imminent April 1st relaunch, we are pleased to announce that recruitment for a number of key staff positions has reopened.
Please note that this recruitment exercise replaces that which was started in February; unfortunately circumstances beyond our control require that we restart the process. FlyUno management would like to apologise to all original applicants for this lapse. If you applied for any of the positions advertised on February 2nd, or on February 18th, and received any response from FlyUno please forward copies of all communication, including your original application, to the address detailed at the end of this release.
It is essential that when applying for these positions you understand that although flight simulation is a hobby, should you become a staff member you will be expected to dedicate time to the running of FlyUno and providing a service that is second to none. As a staff member you will be expected to show commitment, dedication and enthusiasm. It's not all serious though, and you can be sure that there's fun to be had at the same time.
The vacancies that are open are as follows:-
Marketing Manager - 1 vacancy
Responsible for the internal and external promotion of FlyUno and its activities including the preparation of marketing plans; acting as a focal point through which all such communication from other staff members is channelled; liaison with external organisations such as VAs, retailers, software houses, etc.
Fleet Manager - 1 vacancy
Responsible for maintenance of the FlyUno fleet; the packaging and delivery into test and production of upgrades to existing fleet aircraft; research into and the provision of freeware and payware models of fleet aircraft or enhancements to them (such as panels, sounds, etc). Aircraft repainting skills, whilst not required would be a definite advantage.
Hub Manager(s) - 1-3 vacancies
Co-ordination and preparation when required of routes and flights from each of the hubs from which FlyUno operates (currently Amsterdam, Munich and Liverpool); promotion of the "Destination of the Month" from hubs; preparation of press releases reporting on and promoting hub activity; research into and provision of links to scenery.
Further details of roles and responsibilities are available on request.
All staff will be expected to: -
- attend regular team meetings and provide a verbal report on recent activity; these will be arranged at a to take place at a time that is convenient for all members of the staff team
- maintain a written report of activity and progress against goals in the staff area of the Highflyer forums.
- provide a staff profile for the Fly UK web site (including a photograph) which must be kept up to date.
- field specific enquiries related to their role, or more general enquiries from members received through the staff inbox, Highflyer forums, personal e-mail or on the Teamspeak server.
- work closely with their counterparts on the Fly UK staff team to ensure delivery of accurate and consistent messages.
Staff members will be issued a "flyuno.com" account for use on VA related business.
Finally...
Please, only apply to these positions if you are completely serious about making the required commitment. FlyUno operates an Equal Opportunities Policy, so all are welcome to apply. No previous VA management experience is necessary as this can be more than offset with a good dose of enthusiasm!
Please submit your applications, questions or previous communications with FlyUno in respect of recruitment to "andrew.parish@flyuno.com" or PM me (UKV1471 - Andrew Parish) in the Highflyer forums. All applications should include the following information:-

- The position you're applying for.
- Why you're applying, including a brief summary of what you can bring to the position, to the FlyUno staff team, and to Fly UK as a whole.
