Important Notice to IVAO Pilots

Posted 25 Nov 2005

Details are currently a little sketchy as to why, but the domain name for IVAO has changed, you will all need to update your links.

www.ivao.aero

Is the new domain name for IVAO.

This has caused quite a few problems, mainly on the software side. You will all need to download new versions of IvAp, IvAc, IvAi and a new version of IvAe will be released later this evening.

If you use Servinfo, you can edit it to download data from the new domain by following these instructions:

* Shut down ServInfo, if running
* Locate the file servinfo.ini in you main ServInfo installation folder.
* Open that file with a simple text editor (like Notepad), do not use any Office word processor (like MS Word)!
* Look for the line
IVAO Servers Locator Url=http:/www.ivao.org/whazzup/
(about halfway down in the file)
* Replace .org with .aero
* A little further down, locate the line
Network07 Url=http:/www.ivao.org/schedule
* Again, replace the .org with .aero
* Save this file and close the text editor.
* Start ServInfo, do a download of both IVAO Network Data and scheduling data to verify proper function.

All updated software can be downloaded here:

www.ivao.aero/softdev

If you use the IVAO status indicator, u will have to edit the link so that it points to www.ivao.aero

We are aware that IVAO Fly UK training documents include the www.ivao.org links and we will be changing these documents later this weekend.

If you have any further questions or need any help with anything, get in touch with us.

Kind Regards,
Fly UK Staff Team
