New Flying Club Tour
________________________________________________
As part of our expansion plans for the Flying Club, we are pleased to announce the launch of a new Flying Club tour which was put together by one of our members - UKV1238 Brian Hudson.
The tour will take you throughout England/Wales and is designed to complement our Scottish VFR tour. We hope it will give you the chance to view the country's main attractions.
Furthermore, for the FSX members there is free scenery available by Alf Denham. To download this simply search for "ALF" on www.flightsim.com
UKV1238 Brian Hudson, who designed the tour, says:
"The route is split into a northerly and a southerly section linking the two flying club bases at Shoreham and Sherburn. It includes some very short hops and some longer legs. Whilst flying it, I have tried to plan the routes for each leg so as to pay due regard to the various MATZs and CTZs etc, including requesting airspace transitions at the correct time/place. Most importantly is to plan routes to include suitable VRPs, which is not as easy as it sounds in default FSX! GPS is pretty much essential for some of the legs, although is to be avoided where possible. I also try to follow the published circuit joining procedures for each airfield. All this adds interest to what can be a quite boring exercise (flying VFR offline). The route can be flown in any light aircraft. I have used the J3, the C172 and the Mooney Bravo as well as my own modified C42 microlight."
We hope that you will enjoy this new tour! Please find a link to the tour below:
