Thanks to Lee UKV1122

Posted 01 Jun 2006

Today we see the departure of Lee Appleby UKV1122 who is stepping down from senior management at Fly UK Virtual Airways to further pursue his virtual aviation interests in other areas and groups.

Lee has been with us as a staff member since the early days of Fly UK, in July 2004 Lee joined us, his first major project involved painting the entire fleet in the same livery, for the very first time, Fly UK had a full fleet of aircraft in the same, stunning livery thanks to Lee, he then went on and set to work on replacing the old manual pirep system (which involved Gaz adding pirep hours up with calculators), Lee created an automatic pirep system for us and pilot log books - a major improvement for the VA at the time. From then on Lee has continued to work as part of the staff team primarily on our website and systems, he has always put 100% effort in all his work and is very dedicated, I know Lee has many a time, been up all night coding, or working into the early hours of the morning in improving our website, furthermore, Lee is always willing to go out of his way to help people and fix problems or at least point them in the right direction and ensure they get the most out of the VA and flightsim. The website you see today, complete with all its automation and nifty little features is all thanks to the almost 2 years Lee has spent with the rest of the Fly UK team in working on website related tasks, we have had many different websites and designs, each time, Lee has introduced new features & improvements for the benefit of you, our members.

It is sad to see Lee step down as staff, but Lee being the upstanding member of the Fly UK community he is, will still be around chatting to us on TS more or less as normal. So you will still have a mad geordie saying hello to you when logging on TS!! (we cant get rid of him that easily!)

On behalf of Fly UK I would like to wish Lee all very best with his 'virtual aviation career' in the future, thank you for all your hard work, everything you have put into Fly UK and your dedication to the VA, you are always welcome in the Fly UK community and I am sure we will most certainly see you around just as much on TS etc.
