Web Downtime: All Systems Restored

Posted 26 Feb 2008

On Sunday evening (24th February 2008) at approximately 20.30, our server went down, resulting in all our website and systems becoming unavailable. After investigating this issue with our server company, it appeared that after a routine restart of the server, it had become corrupt. The issue was escalated to a higher support team who then worked with us to resolve the issue as soon as possible. We managed to restore the server at approximately 23.40 on Monday 25th February 2008.

We would like to thank all members for their support and understanding during the recent downtime, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Special thanks to our members who helped us distribute information and updates throughout the downtime period. We would also like to thank ex Vice CEO Gaz Richardson for providing us with a temporary Teamspeak server throughout the downtime.

We are pleased to announce that all websites and systems are back up and running, and its business as usual. Please file any pireps recorded on paper as soon as possible. The only issue being reported at the minute is an error 404, page not found error. This is a completely separate issue to the downtime, and anyone experiencing this problem needs to read this information: http:/www.flyukva.com/en/forums/index.php?showtopic=3694

We were saddened to learn that an ex staff member of Fly UK, took this downtime opportunity to be petty and childish, starting rumours that Fly UK had closed for good. This is clearly not the case.

Kind Regards,

Fly UK Web & Systems Development
