Website Changes Notice
Posted 23 Jun 2006
I have recently started some work on minor improvements to the Fly UK website. Today I have restructured the menu which should hopefully make our very big website a bit more organised!
Changes:
Flights menu removed. These pages can now be located under the operations menu, all information on these pages is currently under review and will be overhauled shortly.
Operations menu - I have combined the events & online flying page into 1 webpage. I have added a 3 step menu at the top, when flying for Fly UK you should 1. Choose a flight (timetable centre) 2. Flight Planning Office (weather centre, routefinder, view notams & useful links combined on 1 webpage) and then 3. File A Pirep.
The flight manifest search is not yet working but will be soon, for now flight manifests can be viewed by clicking the flight number of any flight when searching for flights in the timetable centre.
The fleet centre will also be revamped shortly and a new FS links page added as well as new items added to the download centre.
The resources menu has been made smaller and some items moved to the community menu. A resign feature has also been added.
The community menu contains links to things going on in the Fly UK community, and has a variety of things that members can get involved in. New pages include SkyHigh Radio and Skyways Magazine.
Next week, the training pages will be updated with new information. I also plan to make minor changes to our homepage, create an improved statistics page and other managers will be updating information in the corporate and careers section of our website.
I am also pleased to announce we are looking into creating flight recording software which will record flight data automatically and export to Fly UK systems which will mean you will no longer have to file pireps via the website - it will all be automated. If we have any members who are familiar with software programming and may want to help us out, please contact me chris@flyukva.com
I always welcome your comments on the website, if you have any ideas, comments or suggestions please get in touch!
Kind Regards,
Chris Sutcliffe
