Whats Happening at Fly UK!
Posted 04 Oct 2005
It has now been nearly a month now since flyukva.com was completely re-launched. Since Fly UK first began in April 2004, the Fly UK website has been re-designed many many times, as an online organisation, we believe having a stable, good looking and functional website is key, as the website is a major factor which influences peoples opinions of Fly UK. However behind the scenes and codes of the nowadays very complex website, one thing which has remained the same and expanded as times goes on, is the the constant hard work & enthusiasm of all the staff team here at Fly UK.
Our new website has drastically changed and reduced the work load of the staff here at Fly UK, in fact Fly UK virtually runs itself, we could run the virtual airline at a good standard with staff just over viewing the systems from time to time. This being the attitudes of some virtual airlines in the flightsim community. However at Fly UK, yes our automated systems have reduced our work load, but we will not be sitting back and just watching over things, the hard work certainly does not stop here. Automated systems simply mean, now we have time to work and concentrate on other aspects of the virtual airline to continue to provide our members with a better, more realistic virtual aviation experience.
Infact, over the next few months, we aim to continue to make Fly UK more than just a virtual airline, we want to create a strong Fly UK community of people who share the same interests and passion for their flight sim hobby willing to help & provide information to each other. We have already delivered a number of features with the aim to provide plenty of easy ways for members to get involved, stay in touch & interact with each other.
- Forums - allows pilots to contact & communicate with the whole Fly UK community.
- Message System - enables all pilots/managers to easily contact each other and stay in touch.
- Find A Buddy System - provides members with the facility to locate members within their timezone and country.
- 24/7 Servers - which lets members come online anytime they feel to meet up with fellow pilots for a chat or group flight.
- Review Team - an extra activity which allows members to get further involved with the virtual airline if they wish.
- Regular Events - provide the opportunity for Fly UK members to get together and fly online!
So what's next?
First things first, we are currently in the process of finally setting up and making operational our chopper and cargo divisions which we anticipate to be officially operational by the weekend. Also we will be completing all aspects of the website.
We will aim to provide and create more opportunities for pilots who want to become more involved within the virtual airline.
We will also be re-launching our kneeboard service which will be re-branded as vPAX and offer many new features - this will be released around Christmas time!
We will be creating another issue of our Skyways magazine which will hopefully be released in early November.
Furthermore, we plan to conduct a winter survey, which will question members on various aspects of Fly UK and what they think about the virtual airline, the results of this survey will then decide on what we will be working on for the first part of 2006 to continue to improve our virtual airline.
As well as a variety of new projects, we will of course continue to maintain and improve where possible the current high standards of our virtual airline operations in all areas including training & support, routes & hub operations, fleet/downloads...
If you have any ideas, comments or suggestions for Fly UK, our staff team are here and ready to listen... simply contact us via the forum or message system, we welcome all comments, negative or positive, big or small, we want to provide you with an an enjoyable realisatic virtual aviation experience within a community of dedicated people passionate about their flight sim hobby. We will listen and fully take into considerarion any ideas or suggestions from members.
On behalf of all the staff team here at Fly UK, I would like to thank you for your continued support and we hope you are enjoying your time here at Fly UK, and will be a valued member for many years in the future.
Kind Regards,
Chris Sutcliffe
Fly UK Virtual Airways CEO
