Posted 17 Nov 2006
flyuno.com and Fly UK would like to announce that after lengthy meetings between senior members of both management teams, on Wednesday 15th November at 11.00PM, a deal was agreed which will see flyuno.com become part of Fly UK operating as the low cost subsidiary, in which flyuno.com will replace and takeover Fly UK’s existing FLY2 low cost brand.
As a result, flyuno.com will expand to include FLY2’s current fleet of Boeing 737-700 next generation aircraft which will sport the flyuno.com brand livery. flyuno.com will also take on FLY2’s existing winter routes from its Liverpool base until the new summer schedules come into effect later in 2007. Existing flyuno.com pilots will benefit from improved web & systems (pireps, crew page etc.), training & support, offers & discounts and much more that Fly UK has to offer.
Fly UK pilots now have the chance to fly an expanded selection of low cost routes and aircraft under the powerful flyuno.com low cost brand. flyuno.com operate from Amsterdam & Munich, two great hubs for online flying and operate a fleet of Airbus aircraft including A319’s, A320’s and A321’s.
This is an exciting time for both pilots of flyuno.com and Fly UK, this is one of the first times in UK virtual aviation, when two virtual airlines will be working together, rather than against each other, to achieve one common goal of providing a quality, realistic and enjoyable virtual aviation experience for all.
As well as flyuno.com becoming part of Fly UK, the long-haul business brand Ricchio International will also become part of Fly UK and an announcement regarding this will be made later this month.
The gradual transition of FLY2 becoming flyuno.com will begin soon with the repainting of all FLY2 aircraft into the flyuno.com livery.
In a comment from the flyuno.com Managing Director Sam Eaton he said “I am very excited about working with Fly UK, I think this change will be great for both airlines, and I feel that flyuno.com and Fly UK will have a great partnership and future togetherâ€
Chris Sutcliffe, CEO from Fly UK was available to comment and said “This deal is an exciting and important milestone for both VA’s and the virtual aviation community in general, its not every day you see major VA’s coming to work together closely to better the experience we offer members. I look forward to seeing the powerful flyuno.com brand and Fly UK develop well into the future.â€
