As part of Fly UK’s recent on going re-structure, we are now pleased to announce, that we currently have various vacancies that have become available on the staff team here at Fly UK Virtual Airways.
However, it is essential that you understand that although flight simming is a hobby, when you become a staff member, you would need to spend a greater amount of time working to run Fly UK Virtual Airways, providing a free service that is second-to-none. As a staff member you will be expected to show commitment, dedication and enthusiasm in order to keep Fly UK a professional virtual airline.
But working with us behind the scenes is not boring, the staff team is full of funny characters and is full of diverse personalities, so each "meeting" is bound to be full of laughter...although we do always get something productive out of the meetings and working in coordination with each other.
The vacancies that are available at the moment are as follows:
Training Academy
Training Academy Manager (2 x Vacancies)
In this position, you are responsible for the following items:
· Have a wide band of knowledge of Flight Simulator and aviation in general and be able to use this knowledge in order to assist Fly UK members who have requested training.
· Be able to train pilots online, therefore being able to monitor their actions and advise with actions where necessary.
· If training is requested for IVAO, then training must be completed online on IVAO and therefore both the trainer and the trainee must be IVAO registered and have VID numbers.
· If general training is requested, then training should be completed on our IB Net server (requires IB Net software setup) or on a multiplayer server so that trainer can monitor trainee.
· Have access to gates.to/FSNet software so that pilots can be shown “exactly†what to do using this piece of software that will allow a pilot and co-pilot session where both trainer and trainee can be in the same aircraft.
· Create training manuals/documents in order to help Fly UK pilots (these should be forwarded to the Senior Manager of the department for certification).
· Review progress of pilots in training through written an oral communication.
· Answer any queries or problems that are put forward by Fly UK pilots to the staff inbox or the Fly UK community forums regarding training.
Flight Operations Department
- Fixed Wing Operations (4 x Vacancies)
Working in our operations team you will be involved in a variety of tasks in different operational areas including Scheduled, Regional & Charter.
- Reviewing and maintaining our flights databases, adding new flights and ensuring that all data for each flight is correct and present.
- Continually reviewing flight and operational statistics (popularity of flights etc.) and highlighting any concerns.
- Researching and suggesting improvements/changes to route network.
- Helping assign flight times, flight days & frequency etc.
- Checking the latest real world operations and news for anything that may affect Fly UK operations by posting NOTAMs.
Flight Operations Department
- Chopper Division
Fleet Painter
In this position, you are responsible for the following items:
· Creating downloadable packages of the Fly UK Virtual Airways helicopter.
· Creating repaints aircraft that are the same as the aircraft operated within the fleet.
· If a new or updated version of a payware or freeware model operated within the fleet becomes available, all of the packages should be updated and all of the members should be notified through the release of a NOTAM.
· Answer any queries or problems that are put forward by Fly UK pilots to the staff inbox or the Fly UK community forums regarding the fleet.
Marketing Department (2 x Vacancies)
Destination Promotion Manager
In this position, you are responsible for the following items:
· Reviewing flight statistics and promoting destinations that Fly UK pilots should fly to.
· Creating a reference page, each month, informing Fly UK pilots of the “Destination of the Month†including information such as airport details, runway details, location details (in both Flight Simulator and real world), providing links to freeware scenery and payware scenery, taking screenshots and locating real life images.
· Issuing press releases with destination statistics and promoting Fly UK and its “Destination of the Monthâ€. These press releases should be posted onto Flight Simulator community forums as well as the Fly UK community forums and media centre.
· Answer any queries or problems that are put forward by Fly UK pilots to the staff inbox or the Fly UK community forums regarding the “Destination of the Monthâ€.
Public & Corporate Relations Manager
In this position, you are responsible for the following items:
· Creating a monthly press release to be posted on all Flight Simulator community forums and sites. Press releases should promote Fly UK and its key, fundamental features and continual improvements with the latest news and events.
· Create and post press releases and news updates on the Fly UK web site and the Fly UK community forums (if managers from other departments would like for you to create a press release for them, they will supply all information necessary using the ‘Press Release Form’ which will then be forwarded to yourself).
· Handle liaison with other virtual aviation organisations and real world organisations.
· Handle codeshare agreements, airline partnerships and associates.
· Seek discounts and offers for Fly UK’s members and handle liaison between Fly UK and publishers or companies of Flight Simulator add-on-packages.
· Review and create marketing plans for areas and departments of Fly UK.
· Answer any queries or problems that are put forward by Fly UK pilots to the staff inbox or the Fly UK community forums regarding press releases or marketing in general.
** This applies to all staff positions! **
- As a staff member, you are required to assist the rest of the staff in helping members with general enquiries as well as specific enquiries, related to your role, received in our staff inbox, forums, your personal inbox or on the Teamspeak server.
- As a staff member, you will also be expected to attend our management meetings (exceptions to some positions apply), provide a staff profile which must be kept up to date and include a staff photo, show enthusiasm and dedication.
- Each staff member will be issued with an @flyukva.com email account.
