Inside look into Cetan's destinations

With Cetan's recent unveiling, let's have a sneak peek at the route network and some of the unique destinations that are coming with Fly UK's new division!

Miami

Miami is home to our East Coast base for Cetan. The aim with this region was to create a hub that, like her sister hubs, links to the rest of the Cetan network and goes on to combine some of the larger, more well-known destinations with some lesser-known, smaller fields. Along with this, we wanted to reach into Central and South America, The Caribbean and some European long-haul destinations to open some cool links with our Fly UK European destinations.

Let's have a look at a few of the destinations coming to Cetan's Miami Services!

KDCA - Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Dulles lesser-known close friend! Sometimes referred to colloquially as National Airport, Washington National, Reagan National Airport, DCA, Reagan, or simply National.

Flights into and out of the airport are generally not allowed to exceed 1,250 statute miles (2,010 km) in any direction nonstop, in an effort to send coast-to-coast and overseas traffic to Dulles International Airport, though there are 40 slot exemptions to this rule. Planes are required to take unusually complicated paths to avoid restricted and prohibited airspace above sensitive landmarks, government buildings, and military installations in and around Washington, D.C., and to comply with some of the tightest noise restrictions in the country.

The airport has no United States immigration and customs facilities. While technically an international airport, it is used predominantly for domestic flights with the only international being to and from those with U.S. Customs and Border Protection preclearance facilities, including major airports in Canada and from some destinations in the Caribbean.

Something a little different from your normal Ops, National is served thrice daily by Cetan with our B737s.

SVMI - Simón Bolívar International Airport

Welcome to Venezuela!

Simón Bolívar International Airport or Maiquetía "Simón Bolívar" International Airport is located in Maiquetía, Vargas, Venezuela, about 21 kilometres (13 mi) west of downtown Caracas, the capital of the country. The airport opened in 1945 as the Aeropuerto Internacional de Maiquetía. The site had been recommended as an appropriate location for an airport by Charles Lindbergh on behalf of Pan Am. The USA subsidised the construction of the airport as part of the Airport Development Program. Luis Malaussena was the architect who designed the original passenger terminal.

Venezuela has its share of problems, but no one can deny the beauty of the country itself. Cetan flies daily to SVMI in our B737.

LEMD - Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport

Espana! And Spain's main international airport serving its capital, Madrid.

At 3,050 ha (7,500 acres) in area, it is the second-largest airport in Europe by physical size behind Paris–Charles de Gaulle Airport. In 2019, 61.8 million passengers travelled through Madrid–Barajas, making it the country's busiest airport as well as Europe's sixth busiest.

The airport opened in 1931 and has grown to be one of Europe's most important aviation centres. Within the city limits of Madrid, it is 9 km (6 mi) from the city's financial district and 13 km (8 mi) northeast of the Puerta del Sol or Plaza Mayor de Madrid, Madrid's historic centre. The airport's name derives from the adjacent district of Barajas, which has its own metro station on the same rail line serving the airport. Barajas serves as the gateway to the Iberian Peninsula from the rest of Europe and the world and is a key link between Europe and Latin America.

Europe's gate to Latin America is Our U.S. gateway to Europe!

Cetan flies daily to Madrid from Miami on our A330 CEO giving great links to Fly UK's network and even Cargo!

Denver

Denver is our Northern base and Cetan takes over from Aurora here. Denver was chosen as a great central airport to the U.S. and a popular destination in real life. Denver links well to our existing Aurora services and opens up a great U.S. domestic route network. Touching central America, Denver goes 'both ways' when it comes to Long Haul with options over both the Atlantic and Pacific, something for everyone.

A look at a selection of Denver's new destinations.

KGPI - Glacier Park International Airport

The Rocky Mountains are calling!

Glacier Park International Airport is in Flathead County, Montana, United States, six miles northeast of Kalispell. The airport was built in 1942 as Flathead County Airport, from which its IATA and original FAA and ICAO codes were derived. Airline flights operated by Northwest Airlines began in 1950; however, passenger traffic was sparse for years. In 1970 the airport was designated as an international airport and received its current name. The airport covers 1,525 acres (617 ha) and has two asphalt runways.

With some great scenery available to simmers, Glacier Park is a fantastic destination to fly to, something a little different from your normal operations. Cetan operates daily flights to Glacier Park on your Boeing 737-700 aircraft.

MMMY - Monterrey International Airport

Welcome to Mexico!

North Eastern Mexico to be precise. Monterrey International Airport, ceremonial name General Mariano Escobedo International Airport, is an international airport located in Apodaca, Nuevo León, Mexico. Together with Del Norte International Airport, the airport handles domestic and international operations for the city of Monterrey and its metropolitan area. There are almost 300 daily flights to more than 35 destinations in Mexico, the United States, and Latin America. With the second-highest traffic in northern Mexico, Monterrey International Airport is also Mexico's fifth and Latin America's 12th-busiest airport. It had one of the fastest influx growth in recent years; it handled 8,269,834 passengers in 2021.

Monterrey is one of the most livable cities in Mexico, and a 2018 study found that the suburb San Pedro Garza García is the city with the best quality of life in Mexico. It serves as a commercial centre of northern Mexico and is the base of many significant international corporations. Rich in history and culture, it is one of the most developed cities in Mexico.

And you can visit whenever suits you with twice daily flights on our Boeing 737's.

RJAA - Tokyo Narita International Airport

For those that fancy something on the longer side of Long Haul, let's visit the Land of the Rising Sun!

Narita is the busiest airport in Japan for international passenger and international cargo traffic. In 2018, Narita had 33.4 million international passengers and 2.2 million tonnes of international cargo. In 2018, Narita was also the second-busiest airport in Japan in terms of aircraft movements (after Haneda Airport in Tokyo) and the tenth-busiest air freight hub in the world. Its 4,000-metre (13,123 ft) main runway shares the record for the longest runway in Japan with the second runway at Kansai International Airport in Osaka. Narita serves as the main international hub of Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and Nippon Cargo Airlines, and as a hub for low-cost carriers Jetstar Japan and Peach.

Tokyo is the capital and largest city of Japan. Formerly known as Edo, its metropolitan area (spanning 13,452 square kilometres or 5,194 square miles) is the most populous in the world, with an estimated 37.468 million residents as of 2018; the city proper has a population of 13.99 million people. Located at the head of Tokyo Bay, the prefecture forms part of the Kantō region on the central coast of Honshu, Japan's largest island. Tokyo serves as Japan's economic centre and is the seat of both the Japanese government and the Emperor of Japan.

With six flights a week from Denver in our Boeing 777-300 buckle up for a long one!

San Fransisco

Are you going to San Fransisco? Rounding off our hubs for Cetan is San Fran. Linking across the U.S. and over the largest ocean the world has to offer. We have chosen a selection of great U.S. airports and a whole host of destinations up and down the Far East and Oceana. Let's see where you could end up.

KBUR - Hollywood Burbank Airport

Well, you can't be in California and not visit Hollywood, right?

Hollywood Burbank Airport is a public airport 3 miles (4.8 km) northwest of downtown Burbank, in Los Angeles County, California. It is closer to many popular attractions including Griffith Park, Universal Studios Hollywood, Hollywood, and Downtown Los Angeles than Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and is the only airport in the area with a direct rail connection to Downtown Los Angeles, with service from two stations: Burbank Airport–North and Burbank Airport–South. Nonstop flights mostly serve cities in the western United States and short-haul international flights to western Canada. Hollywood Burbank Airport covers 555 acres (224 ha) at an elevation of 778 feet (237 m) above sea level. It has two asphalt runways.

Billed as the "Media Capital of the World" and only a few miles northeast of Hollywood, numerous media and entertainment companies are headquartered or have significant production facilities in Burbank, including Warner Bros. Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Nickelodeon Animation Studio, The Burbank Studios, Cartoon Network Studios with the West Coast branch of Cartoon Network, and Insomniac Games. The broadcast network The CW is also headquartered in Burbank.

The Hollywood Burbank Airport was the location of Lockheed's Skunk Works, which produced some of the most secret and technologically advanced aircraft, including the U-2 spy planes that uncovered the Soviet Union missile components in Cuba in October 1962. In addition, the city contains the largest IKEA in the U.S.

Two flights a day on our Boeing 737-700's means you can rub shoulders with the stars, whenever you like.

PHNL - Honolulu International Airport

Aloha!

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, also known as Honolulu International Airport, is the main airport of Oahu, Hawaii. The airport is named after Honolulu native and Medal of Honor recipient Daniel Inouye, who represented Hawaii in the U.S. Senate from 1963 to his death in 2012. The airport is in the Honolulu census-designated place 3 miles (5 km) northwest of Honolulu's central business district. The airport covers 4,220 acres (1,708 ha), more than 1% of Oahu's land.  The airport has four major runways, which it operates in conjunction with the adjacent Hickam Air Force Base. The principal runway designated 8R/26L, also known as the Reef Runway, was the world's first major runway constructed entirely offshore. Completed in 1977, the Reef Runway was a designated alternate landing site for the Space Shuttle.

In addition to the four paved runways, Daniel K. Inouye International Airport has two designated offshore waterways designated 8W/26W and 4W/22W for use by seaplanes.

Oahu, also known as "The Gathering Place", is the third-largest of the Hawaiian Islands. It is home to roughly one million people—over two-thirds of the population of the U.S. state of Hawaii. The entire island of O’ahu constitutes Honolulu County and the state capital, Honolulu, is on its southeast coast. The island has been inhabited since at least the 3rd century A.D. The 304-year-old Kingdom of Oʻahu was once ruled by the most ancient aliʻi in all of the Hawaiian Islands. The first great king of Oʻahu was Maʻilikūkahi, the lawmaker, who was followed by many generations of monarchs. Kualiʻi was the first of the warlike kings and so were his sons. In 1783, Kahekili II, King of Maui, conquered Oʻahu and deposed the reigning family and then made his son, Kalanikūpule, king of O'ahu, turning O'ahu into a puppet state. Kamehameha the Great would conquer the mountain Kalanikūpule's force in the Battle of Nuʻuanu. Kamehameha founded the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi with the conquest of Oʻahu in 1795. Hawaiʻi would not be unified until the islands of Kauaʻi and Niʻihau surrendered under King Kaumualiʻi in 1810. Kamehameha III moved his capital from Lāhainā, Maui to Honolulu, Oʻahu in 1845. ʻIolani Palace, built later by other members of the royal family, is still standing and is the only royal palace on American soil.

We have two flights a day in the Triple 7 to the island.

WSSS - Singapore Changi Airport

Singapore, Singapura, which was in turn derived from the Sanskrit word for "lion city".

Singapore Changi Airport, commonly known as Changi Airport, is a major civilian international airport that serves Singapore and is one of the largest transportation hubs in Asia. As one of the world's busiest airports by international passenger and cargo traffic, it has been rated as the 'World's Best Airport' by Skytrax several times and is the first airport in the world to hold the accolade for eight consecutive years. It has also been rated as one of the world's cleanest airports and highly rated international transit airports. More than 100 airlines operate from the airport, with nonstop or direct flights to destinations in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

Singapore's history dates back at least a millennium, has been a maritime emporium known as Temasek and subsequently was a major constituent part of several successive thalassocracy empires. Its contemporary era began in 1819 when Stamford Raffles established Singapore as an entrepôt trading post of the British Empire. After early years of turbulence whilst lacking natural resources and a hinterland, the nation rapidly developed to become one of the Four Asian Tigers based on international trade and economic globalisation, integrating itself within the world economy through free trade with minimal to no trade barriers or tariffs, export-oriented industrialisation, and the large accumulation of received foreign direct investments, foreign-exchange reserves, and assets held by sovereign wealth funds.

One of Fly UK's longest flights clocking in at over 16 hours, do you fancy giving it a whirl across the International Date Line?

So, where are you heading first? See you on 12th November, or should I say, November 12th?
