New homes for old planes!
Interesting range of flights available over coming weeks for retired aircraft
Following the introduction of the winter schedules, Fly 2 fleet changes and the 787 fleet we have had a number of aircraft in storage at Prestwick whilst the fleet team found new homes or decided their fate. As result Fly UK pilots are now able to embark on a number of unusual and different routes as those aircraft are ferried to their new owners. From now and until the New Year, batches of ad-hoc ferry flights will be made available. Boeing 737-700, 767, 747, 747F and MD11F currently in storage at Prestwick will feature.
The first wave see’s several 767’s headed to Arizona storage yards, 737’s sold and headed to Portland for freighter conversion and a sale to Muscat based Shiekh Al Wheatium.
In coming weeks some of the highlights include
- 737’s headed to new owners in Samoa, Lithuania, Peru and Hong Kong
- MD11F heading for new owners in Alaska and South Africa
- 747-400 donated to Duxford Air Museum.
